Batavia, NY -The draw for the $ 2.4 million New York Sire Stake Finals has been completed and 61 of the best state bred 2 and 3-year-old trotters and pacers have been declared and will go to Batavia Downs in Batavia Downs on Saturday (September 6). The eight harness racedivisions are disputed for $ 300,000 each and the first race on Saturday is an 6 p.m.
This year’s final this year will contain some of the best young artists in North America, including the 2-year-old trot Merrievefeulen Sharp Seven (Chapter Seven-Wooking Sharp), 2-year-old Colt Titans Mischief (El Titan-Morosis bi), 2-year-old Pacing Colt-Fragment (Huntsville-The show returns), 3-year-old Draft Filly my debt collector (Chapter Seven-Magic Presto), 3-year-old trotting Colt Varegated (Chapter Seven-Wite Cheetah), 3-year-old Pacing Filly the Last Martini (Huntsville-Martinique) and 3-year-old Pacing Velding Dandy Ideal (American ideal-Ak heavenly). They are currently all in the top five for income in their respective categories for 2025 in North America who is entering this event.
And all four of last year’s 2-year-old champions (the last Martini, Courts on Fire, Royal Mission and Varegated) will also come back to try to take home the second-year crown.
All the best horses of the New York Sire Stake Circuit will be at hand, including the Nyss series of leading trainers Jared Bako, Marcus Melander, Ron Burke and Ray Schnittker, together with the top of the leaders of leaders Tyler Buter, Jason Bartlett, Matt Kakaley and Mark. Other top names that are planned to be at hand, his Yannick Gingras, Tim Tetrick, Ake Svanstedt, Scott Zeron and Brett Beckwith.
The Nyss races are programmed as race two, three, five, six, eight, nine, 10 and 11. With the caliber of horse that is attracted and the talent that is planned on the spot to control them, it might be the biggest night of racing in the 85-year history of Batavia Downs.
