Eddie Howe and the boys.
Should Eddie go or stay and should the Newcastle United players be slaughtered or announced?
Fickle is a word to describe football fans, but I didn’t think Newcastle United fans were like that.
In my opinion, of course, Eddie Howe should stay AND the guys shouldn’t be slaughtered every week.
Yes, be unhappy when we lose, yes, be unhappy when the performance is below par and yes, be unhappy when things generally don’t go like our beloved Toon.
But draw the line there.
There are things that frustrate me and annoy me.
For example, I think they should have more confidence in the youngsters to play.
Apart from who is or isn’t on loan at the moment, I would have liked to see Park Seung-soo, Sanusi, Alabi, Neave, Cordero etc. feature in these games where we have been poor.
From what we’ve seen of Alex Murphy, he looks solid, so if Sven Botman and Dan Burn are injured, Murphy could play instead of aging like a handsome, soft-spoken Swiss man, game in game out. Or Shahar as a left back with the problems we have had in that position this season with injuries.
I could say that Eddie doesn’t change systems, formations or tactics, but I’m not a football manager, and certainly not a high class one like Eddie Howe.
The boys give everything every game, whether they win, lose or draw. They did so much for us fans who were desperate not only for success but for a team to try, we have that now more than ever.
I guess what I’m saying is be careful what you wish for, as if Eddie Howe were to leave, I think there would be a lot of regret. We are not fickle fans, we are UNITED!
