It was a long day on the courts Friday … Vicki and I warmed only an hour at 7: 45 … It was a beautiful morning, so I took some pictures of the glassy lake.
We played our singles at noon and started on time, Vicki against Magda Gual Leo of Spain, and I against Betty Michel of France. We both had difficult competitions. Vicki won 75 63 against Magda (who played #1 this year in the Spanish 60 Cup team in Florida. Magda has an excellent forehand that she can hit with different heights and spider, and a solid backhand … The game looked like a fight, but I only saw a few points (they played beside us and they played on the Wissels). Vicki’s and was a 62 64 match that lasted more than two hours … Many long points, a lot of scrambling through me and some of Betty … We used a lot of the court!
We also won the 55 Doubles about Catherine Morgan/MJ Pachl in an all-American final.
There was no prize money here, but we all received beautiful embroidered towels (winner for us), and some handles and rope. It was a nice week … Many thanks to the organizational team that was professional and friendly as always, for Vicki for all the great practice and tips and of. Course for playing doubles with me, and full for the great racquets, bag etc.!
Now … to Graz Dan Mallorca.
