The FBI revealed Tuesday that the overall number of arrests for violent crimes has skyrocketed under the Trump administration compared to the same period under Biden.
Annual arrests remained steady under former President Joe Biden but quickly doubled in Trump’s first year in office, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital.
FBI Director Kash Patel said the staggering increase was directly caused by local agencies receiving more resources to make America safer.
“This is a direct result of the FBI prioritizing tackling violent crime and refocusing the Bureau beyond Washington, DC, and giving field personnel more of the tools they need to be successful in states and localities across the country,” Patel said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“In just one year, we have essentially doubled our violent crime arrest rate and made tremendous progress in making America safer than ever before.”
Authorities noted that the reported arrests – which included gang activity, cross-border organized crime and child trafficking – were tracked in 17 key field offices.

The total number of arrests rose to nearly 14,000 from Jan. 20 to Dec. 22, compared with about 6,000 to 7,000 annually in the previous four years, according to statistics.
Documents show a dramatic increase in arrests at key FBI agencies. Buffalo led the nation with a staggering 400% jump, from 125 to 642. Jackson’s arrests more than tripled, rising 264.5% from 248 to 904. New York, which recorded the highest number of arrests, saw a 175.2% increase, from 621 to 1,709. Arrests in Nashville rose 160% to 871, and Detroit saw a 150.8% increase, from 305 to 765.

Outside of the top five offices, nearly every other agency also saw increases, including New Orleans, Miami, Houston and Dallas. The only decline occurred in Seattle, where arrests fell 7.5% from 320.
The FBI also noted that the total number of arrests, not including crimes against children, more than doubled from 5,778 to 12,901.
