YONKER, NY.–Joe Faraldo and Bob Hechkoff both scored victories Thursday night (October 30) at Yonkers Raceway in their respective $13,100 running division of the North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) Pride at Yonkers Raceway.
Faraldo romped in the opening division with Ima Standup Guy by staying straight and strong to take a 1:59.1 victory.
Leaving post 3, Ima Standup Guy moved forward and took the de facto lead when Double Dealing (driven by Robert Ciavardini) broke stride and left the course to a:29 first quarter. Double Dealing failed to lose ground at a gallop, so Faraldo kept Ima Standup Guy steady and in a significant lead with Awol Hanover (Steven Reisenweaver), his closest pursuer. Ima Standup Guy rode through a:58 half and 1:28 three-quarters to comfortably cruise to victory by eight lengths.
Awol Hanover was second, while Psalmsfortysixfive (Scott Keppler) took the lead after a break for third place. Mamy Wata (Paul Minore) also recovered from a break in fourth place.
IMA STANDUP GUY REPLAY
Scott Di Domenico trains Ima Standup Guy, a 6-year-old gelding by Archangelfor owners Joe Faraldo and Triple D Stables Inc. He paid $29.40 to win.
Bob Hechkoff later made a pocket trip for a 1:57.4 win at odds of 12-1 with Eyes Of Justice in the second NAADA Trot division. Hechkoff settled behind 7-5 favorite The Last Chapter (Scott Keppler) as he endured pressure from Big Charlie Moran (Mario D’Abruzzo) to a first quarter of :28.4 and a half of :58.3. Big Charlie Moran finally gave in from the wide travel and retreated onto the backstretch, while The Last Chapter cruised to three-quarters in 1:27.4. Eyes Of Justice meanwhile had plenty of room to turn out on the final turn and laid his attack in the lane, successfully beating The Last Chapter by three-quarter lengths on the line. I’m Out (Joe Faraldo) finished third, a further four lengths behind, and Muskingum (Yogi Sheridan) finished four lengths further back in fourth.
EYES OF JUSTICE
Frank Calcagni trains Eyes Of Justice, a 7-year-old gelding by Justice Hall, for owner RBH Ventures Inc. He paid $26.96 to win.
The NAADA action shifts back to Monticello next Wednesday (November 5). The post time for the first race at Monticello is 12:10 PM (EST).
