Quarterbacks

Jaxson DartNew York Giants (Roasted in 44.1% of the competitions at ESPN)

  • League -size: 10
  • Timeframe: In the short term, long term

Although Sam Darnold and Tua Tagovailoa were the best-performing quarterbacks that were available on the Waiver wire this week, we now have a monster of five games on both, and neither of them is on average more than 17 fantasy points per game. That 17-point threshold is generally a good basin line for whether a quarterback should be roasted in most formats.

Almost all the quarterbacks above that brand have already been roasted, apart from Mac Jones and Carson Wentz, who could both return to the bank in the couch.

With only the Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings one day in week 6, most managers do not have to stream a quarterback – apart from those who trust Lamar Jackson. The top two streaming options look like Darnold and Tagovailoa this week in short-term value, but offer a higher ceiling ahead.

Jaxson Dart stood out for a second consecutive game, largely thanks to his hasty production. He ran seven times before 55 yards and added 202 Yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions through the air on 26-of-40 pass. Because the Giants are likely to play from behind, Dart must continue to see a high dropback volume and opportunities to run.

He has an average of 18.7 fantasy points per game as a starter, making him a borderline -fantasia -starter. Dart has a realistic path to end up as a top 12 fantasy quarterback during the rest of the season.

Jake BrowningCincinnati Bengals (5.0%)

  • League -size: 12
  • Timeframe: Long -term

Jake Browning struggled as a starter because of his first 11 quarters, but the increase in the fourth quarter of the Bengal in week 4 offered a spark of hope. Down 28–3 In the last frame, Cincinnati scored three touchdowns, where Browning finished the competition with 251 passing yards and 31 rushing yards.

The hope is that Browning can bring part of that success of the fourth quarter into full games. It stands out among the generally available quarterbacks, not only because of the weapons around him – namely Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins – but also because of the schedule of the Bengal. Cincinnati is not confronted with another team that stands in the upper half of the competition in limiting fantasy points to quarterbacks to week 17. Five of their next 10 games are against teams in the lower four in that category.

If Browning can reproduce his fourth quarter performance over full matches, he could produce the rest of the season as a top-12 fantasy quarterback. But that remains a big IF.
