Another week of the 2025 NFL season is in the books. These are the players to target in your fantasy football leagues, including options for smaller leagues and deeper leagues, and players to avoid.

QUARTERLY BACKS
Jaxson Dart, New York Giants (Recorded in 35.4% of leagues on ESPN)
- Competition size: 10
- Timeframe: Short term, long term
Dart has started three games for the Giants. In each appearance he has scored twice and gained at least 50 rushing yards, which he accomplishes at a ridiculous 10 carries per start. Only Jalen Hurts has achieved that goal in recent seasons, and Hurts has accomplished it with multiple “Tush Pushes.”
Dart averages 20.3 fantasy points per start, which is typically appropriate for a mid-to-low QB1. His schedule will get a little tougher the rest of the season, especially this week against the Denver Broncos. However, his rushing production gives him a high floor, making his opponent less important than for a typical quarterback. Dart can generally be inserted into fantasy starting lineups in the future and isn’t the worst option for someone looking for a Week 7 replacement.
Joe Flacco, Cincinnati Bengals (4.5%)
- Competition size: 10, 12, 16
- Time frame: Week 7, short term, long term
The Bengals traded for Flacco earlier this week and he was immediately inserted into the starting lineup. He had a solid debut in Cincinnati, completing 29 of 45 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns. He found Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins early and often, despite being teammates with them for less than a week. Ideally, he will develop even more chemistry with the couple over time.
Flacco compiled 18.8 fantasy points, which puts him borderline as a fantasy starter. He did that against an above-average Green Bay Packers defense in preventing fantasy points to quarterbacks. That will be one of the toughest opponents Flacco will face all season.
The Bengals play the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7. Pittsburgh allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks through the first five weeks, and Cincinnati’s next four opponents are against teams in the top eight in allowing fantasy points to quarterbacks. Three of their next five games are against teams in the top three in allowing fantasy points to quarterbacks.
Flacco could be in a fantasy starting lineup for several weeks for the rest of the season, and he could very well be one of the top 10 quarterbacks for the rest of the season.
