Week 13 Fantasy Football Trading Advice
Buy: RB RJ Harvey, Denver Broncos
RJ Harvey is coming off a bye and ready for a rookie bump after the bye week. The carpet has been laid for him to emerge as a league winner for the fantasy playoffs. Harvey has shown a week-winning edge by posting three top-12 fantasy finishes at the running back position while sharing a backfield with JK Dobbins.
With Dobbins injured, Harvey now has a clear path to a top-five RB role for the rest of the season. While role players Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie will be used, Harvey’s talent will ultimately win out. Harvey’s +15.7 Production Premium ranks second among qualified running backs. He is an efficient runner who should go nuclear with more touches.

Sell: WR Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings
JJ McCarthy makes Justin Jefferson run routes like a suburban mom in a weighted running vest. McCarthy’s quarterback play has been terrible this season and has dropped Jefferson’s efficiency to a career-low 0.41 fantasy points per route run. With McCarthy potentially missing Week 13, the Vikings are turning to UDFA Max Brosmer in hopes of taking the offense to the next level.
If you could sell Jefferson for anything because of his name value, I would. He looks like a fantasy player who is locked into your lineup because of his real-life skills, but who underperforms every week because of the team context. Trust me, you’d rather your opponent start him come playoff time.
Buy: RB Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It looks like Bucky Irving will return in Week 13 after being missing since Week 5. While Baker Mayfield’s non-throwing shoulder injury may give you pause on acquiring Irving, you can use this as a buy-low window. Irving served as a true bell-cow for the Buccanears through the first four weeks of the season, averaging 22.5 touches. The Bucs should lean on Irving even more now that Mayfield is on the mend. He’s a set-and-forget RB1 ROS upon his return, and you might be able to get him for RB2 prices.
Sale: RB Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons
Bijan Robinson has a good schedule to close out the season with games against the Buccaneers and Cardinals in Weeks 15 and 16. However, he will face a Rams defense in Week 17 that will likely make quick work of the Falcons’ Kirk Cousins-led offense.
Coupled with this incoming decline in the offense’s efficiency is the Falcons’ continued use of Tyler Allgeier, who saw just two fewer opportunities than Bijan against the Saints last week. At this point in the season, I would want a running back that I could count on for a solid workload or high efficiency. Unfortunately, Bijan doesn’t check these boxes. Try to sell Robinson for an upgrade in your lineup.
Buy: WR Stefon Diggs, New England Patriots
Stefon Diggs is a nice buy-low target if you’re looking to upgrade your reception area. He faced a generous Bengals defense last week and scored just 4.0 fantasy points. However, he runs as many routes as any other receiver on the field. With favorable matchups against the Bills, Ravens and Jets in the fantasy playoffs, Diggs should be a steady top 10 WR the rest of the season after the Patriots bye. Use the Week 14 bye as leverage to pry him off the roster of an opponent that needs a late-season win to clinch a playoff berth, and reap the benefits of having a Patriot on your playoff roster.
Sell: WR Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears
After a thrilling start to the season, Rome Odunze has cooled down. He has scored fewer than 10 fantasy points in his last two games and is averaging 8.75 fantasy points per game in his last four games. Fortunately, he has had some peak weeks of late, which could tempt someone to buy Odnuze.
However, with Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III getting more opportunities in Chicago’s offense, consistency will only remain an issue for the second-year WR. Try to sell Odunze for a more consistent fantasy playoff signing; The Bears’ schedule in weeks 15-17 is also very tough with games against the Browns and the Packers.
Good luck in the fantasy playoffs and thanks for reading this season!
