Ruturaj Gaikwad’s record-breaking hundred against Goa in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26
Gaikwad single-handedly turned the tide and powered his way to an unbeaten 134 that propelled Maharashtra to 249/7 in 50 overs. Facing a precarious 2/3 after quick layoffs from Prithvi Shaw (1), The throne of Kulkarni (0), and Ankit Bawne (0), Gaikwad rebuilt with courage and reached his century in style. His aggressive shots, including lofty covers and powerful pulls, silenced Goa’s bowlers Vasuki Koushik (3/38), who struck early
The innings marked Gaikwad’s latest gem from Vijay Hazare, building on his legendary domestic form that has seen him score the most tons, including a double century earlier in the tournament. Social media was abuzz with ‘GOAT’ chants as clips of his sixes went viral, highlighting his evolution from IPL star to List A powerhouse. Maharashtra’s bounce back owed everything to its composure under pressure
