Thousands of real crime lovers, podcasters and experts are being collected this weekend in the Gaylord Rockies Resort for Crimecon 2025, a convention for real crime lovers.
Family members of high-profile victims of murder, including Ethan Chapin, Gabby Petito, Delphi victims and Lori Vallow, are all planned to speak.

Stacy Chapin, mother of Ethan Chapin, one of the four students from the University of Idaho, brutally murdered in November 2022, is one of the most important speakers. In her session entitled ‘A Promise Chief: The Tragedy in Idaho and how the case was resolved’, she is ready to discuss the devastating loss of her son, the continuous striving for justice and her role as a victim lawyer.

Likewise, the family of Gabby Petito, the 22-year-old travel blogger whose disappearance and murder fascinated in 2021, returns to the crimecon for an exclusive session.
Gabby’s mother, Nichole Schmidt; stepfather, Jim Schmidt; father, Joe Petito; And stepmother, Tara Petito, can be seen in a session entitled “Inside American Murder: The Gabby Petito Story.” The discussion will dive into the details of the case, the tireless search efforts of the family and their continuous work through the Gabby Petito Foundation to increase awareness about domestic violence and missing people.
The family will also organize a meet-and-grreet, so that those present can handle them directly.
In addition to these famous families, Crimecon 2025 includes other family members of victims of crimes, which offers a platform for raw, emotional testimonies. In the session ‘Hope, Heartbreak and Justice: The Delphi Case’, family members of the Delphi Murder victims Abby Williams and Libby German share their journey. Speakers include Anna Williams (Abby’s mother), Becky Patty (Libby’s grandmother) and Tara German (Libby’s aunt), who tell the long way to court after the arrest and conviction in the case.
Colby Ryan, son of convicted murderer Lori Vallow and brother of victims Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow, also speaks. Ryan now uses his platform to tackle the lasting impact of violent crime on families, based on his own experiences in one of the most shocking cases with family betrayal and children’s murders.
Crimecon combines education, entertainment and empathy, with additional highlights such as the Clue Awards Banket organized by ICE-T and adoptable rescue animals from the Maxfund shelter Van Denver.
