Liverpool’s owners are still behind manager Arne Slot despite the team’s disappointing form Fabrizio Romano.
The well-known and respected journalist has noted that despite Liverpool suffering heavy defeats against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League last weekend and PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League in midweek, the club is backing Slot to turn things around.
Romano said on his YouTube channel: “What is the situation with Arne Slot? I get a lot of questions about that to understand what is going on with the Dutch manager, who is experiencing a complicated and very difficult moment at Liverpool.”
“The message coming from the club is still a positive message of support for Arne Slot [had his press conference] today on a Thursday. That’s very unusual.
“Usually this happens on Friday. On Friday you have the press conference where the manager presents the match. This is what always happens in the Premier League.”
“But Liverpool decided to take a day off for the manager, a day off for the staff and a day off for the players to disconnect a bit on Friday.”
He added: “The message is very clear. There is no plan to change the manager immediately.”
“The message is that there is no plan to sack the manager now, so he still has the chance to change the situation. Obviously this cannot be forever. The results must change as quickly as possible to avoid any surprises.”
“So Liverpool can’t support forever. But at the same time, Liverpool still supports the manager.”
