While delving into that particular topic, White said:
“I tell all these guys this isn’t a job, this isn’t a career, this is an opportunity for you to be as famous as you can be. A lot of people around the world see the great things you’ve accomplished and make as much money as possible. Then there’s a second part of your life where they have to go out and figure out who they are and what they want to do.”
Former UFC fighter and respected pro wrestler ‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor responded to the UFC promoter via a recent re-tweet. With a video clip of the podcast appearance posted to X account @jedigoodman, Lawlor stated:
“Double standard, a** bulls**t”
Lawlor entered the Ultimate Fighting Championship fold during the eighth season of The Ultimate Fighter until his final fight for the promotion at UFC 196: Diaz vs. McGregor.
Dana White accepts blame for huge crowd brawl at UFC 322
The latest UFC pay-per-view featured many notable fights, but one of the most talked about brawls took place in the audience. Dillon Danis, ‘John Pork’ and a host of opponents gathered close together in chairs at the side of the cage broke out in a group fight, with White having since made it clear that Danis will not be invited to any future UFC events.
Danis is one of the more controversial figures in the sport and was already involved in the infamous 2018 post-fight brawl, which saw a group fight break out after Khabib Nurmagomedov scored a submission victory over Conor McGregor. White mentioned all of this during the post-fight press conference and talked about how some had tipped him off about Danis’ presence. The Ultimate Fighting Championship figurehead said the Misfits MMA champion had a ticket, should let him take a seat, but also keep a closer eye on him.
White accepted blame for the fight between Danis and the countless Dagestan fighters close to him, which seemingly saw the pinnacle of jiu jitsu banished UFC events forever.
