Indianapolis-by-off NFL Quarterback Mark Sanchez was pepper-sprayed and stabbed several times during a late-night fight with a 69-year-old truck driver in a town of Indianapolis, resulting in criminal persecution against the FOX Sports analyst, according to the court reports submitted on Sunday.
Based on Hotelvideo images of the quarrel early Saturday and the declaration of the driver to the police, a police statement claim that Sanchez, smelling of alcohol, caught the driver of a box truck that went back to the loading docks of a hotel, which led to a confess that pulled the driver to draw a defens.
Sanchez was admitted to the hospital with stabbing wounds at his upper right Torso, said the statement signed by a police detective. Sanchez stayed in the hospital on Sunday, according to the police. The truck driver, identified as PT, had a cut on his left cheek, said it.
Sanchez was in stable condition, FOX Sports said on Saturday. There was no immediate update on Sunday.
His first hearing was established on Tuesday in a mourning room of Marion County.
Sanchez has stabbed several times
While the fight escalated, the driver feared: “” This guy tries to kill me “” and pulled his knife while Sanchez came to him, said the explanation. Sanchez was initially stabbed two or three times and then stabbed again when he went to the driver again, it said.
“The next thing PT knew was that Mr. Sanchez looked at him with a look of shock, he slowly turned around and Mr. Sanchez left in the north in De Steeg,” the document said.
Sanchez was in Indianapolis to call Sunday’s Raiders-Colts competition. Instead, he was accused of battery, which resulted in injury, unauthorized access to a motor vehicle and public intoxication – all crimes. The police received an order to obtain the phone and clothing from Sanchez from the hospital, the document said.
There were no immediate court reports that indicate whether Sanchez still had legal representation.
Marion County Officer Ryan Mears said on Sunday that his office “would follow the facts and the law wherever they lead.”
“What started as a disagreement between a 38-year-old former professional athlete and a 69-year-old man should not have escalated in violence or have been seriously injured,” Mears said in a statement.
FOX Sports -Announcers recognize the absence of Sanchez on Sunday
Sanchez told the police in the hospital that he could only remember that he was grabbing a window, the judicial document said. Sanchez said he didn’t know who else was involved or where the fight took place.
“On Friday evening in Indianapolis, one of our team members, Mark Sanchez, was involved in an incident that we are still trying to wrap our heads to wrap our heads,” said Curt Menefee Sunday on Fox’s primary NFL -PRegame show. “At the moment our thoughts and prayers are with Mark and his family and all those involved.”
FOX Sports Play-by-Play broadcaster Chris Myers also recognized the absence of Sanchez on Sunday before he introduced the replacement of Sanchez, Brady Quinn. Myers said he wanted to send thoughts and prayers to Sanchez and everyone involved in the incident.
Police officers found Sanchez with the stab wounds when they were sent to a pub in the city center on Saturday at 12:35 pm. The truck driver was found in De Steeg.
Details of the confrontation were announced in the statement, based on video images and the declaration of the truck driver to the police.
The video showed that a man was supposed to be Sanchez who ran to the truck in the alley, the statement said. The driver works for a company that specializes in commercial recycling and removal of cooking oil, and he was performed his work, said it.
Sanchez opened the truck door and started talking to the driver, said the statement. Sanchez told the driver that he could not be on the loading dock and that Sanchez had spoken with the hotel manager, the document said. Sanchez smelled of alcohol and his speech was unclear, the driver told the police.
Affidavit says Sanchez threw a truck driver to the ground
Sanchez followed the driver from left to side of the truck, said the court document. When the driver shot to the driver’s door, Video Sanchez showed that Sanchez “grabbed and threw” the driver to a hotel wall, said it. The fight continued a waste container and Sanchez threw the driver on the ground, said it.
Sanchez climbed in the truck, but got out when the driver was told that he was not allowed, it said. Sanchez repeated that he spoke with a manager and did not want the driver to replace frying oil, the document said. Sanchez tried to get back into the truck and blocked the driver to call his manager, said it.
In the conviction that he was in danger, the driver picked Pepperspray out of his pocket and squirted Sanchez’s face, said it. Sanchez wiped his face and went to the driver again, said it.
The driver then drew his knife and stabbed Sanchez while the ex-quartback came to him, it said. The driver fell on the ground on pallets, he told the police.
“While PT was on the ground, he could only see Mr. Sanchez’s feet come on him, so that PT realized that he was in a situation of life or death,” said the sworn explanation.
The driver took his feet and stabbed Sanchez the last time when Sanchez came to him, said it.
