Suryakumar Yadav-guided India National Cricket Team opened their campaign in the Asia Cup 2025 with the match against the National Cricket team of the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday 10 September.
The India National Cricket Team won the match against the National Cricket team of the VAE with 9 Wickets in the Dubai International Stadium.

India chose to first bowl in the game, De Vae de Vae bowed 57 points when Kuldeep Yadav fell 4 Wickets and SHIVAM DUBE got three wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel also cut with a wicket.

Abhishek Sharma pursued the target and shot an explosive 30 runs before Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav finished the Run-Chase in 4.3 overs.
During the presentation ceremony after the game, Suryakumar Yadav said that the surface did not change into the second innings. He explained:
“(Decide to first bowl) wanted to see how the wicket played. It was the same in the 2nd innings.”

Suryakumar Yadav further praised his team for clinical performance and gave a special shoutout to the player of the game, Kuldeep Yadav. He said:
“Clinical performances of the boys, we wanted a good posture and energy on the field and that is what we got.
“Here it is very hot and Kuldeep did well, received good support from Hardik, Dube and Bumrah.”
Suryakumar Yadav also praised Abhishek Sharma, who is currently the number 1 ranked Batsman in the ICC T20i Batting Rankings.
The India skipper also gave Pakistan a warning to Pakistan and said they are enthusiastic to take on the arch rivals at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday 14 September. He explained:
“(On Abhishek) He is currently the world number one batter for a reason, he sets the tone, regardless of whether we are chasing 200 or 50, incredibly of him. Everyone is enthusiastic about the match against Pakistan.”
India was last opposed to the VAE in a T20i in 2016
India crushed the VAE with nine wickets in their very first T20i meeting in Mirpur during the Asia Cup 2016.
Asked to first bowl by Amjad Javed, the attack of India dominated from the start. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets while Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, Pawan Negi and Yuvraj Singh caught up a wicket when the VAE collapsed until 81/9 in their 20 overs.
India pursued a target of only 82 and reached home with 59 balls. Rohit Sharma hit 39 of 28 balls with seven borders and a maximum. From there, Shikhar Dhawan (16*) and Yuvraj Singh (25*) easily wrapped the chase.
