Everton submits a bid for a loan from Fenerbahce

Everton have submitted an official offer to Fenerbahçe for striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Toffees have approached the Turkish Super Lig for a loan deal for En-Nesyri, with an option to make the transfer permanent for a fee of €20 million.

David Moyes wants to bring in another striker this month, now that Beto and Thierno Barry are struggling with their form.

The duo have scored just five goals between them in the Premier League and En-Nesyri is seen as an option to upgrade his attack. Moyes has long had an interest in the Moroccan, with former West Ham previously regarded as admirers.

Fabrizio Romano reports that negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing. En-Nesyri has scored seven goals in ten league starts for Fenerbahce this season, after scoring 30 times in all competitions last season.

The 28-year-old joined from Sevilla, where he scored 73 times in 196 appearances, for a club record fee of €19.5 million in July 2024. The transfer set a new Turkish transfer record at the time.

Any deal will wait until the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations. En-Nesyri is currently at the tournament with host country Morocco. Morocco will play Nigeria in the semi-finals tonight.
