Ethan Nwaneri to Marseille makes sense – says David Seaman

David Seaman said Ethan Nwaneri’s move to Marseille ‘makes sense’ but insisted he would stay at Arsenal if he were in the young midfielder’s shoes as the forward approaches that move to France.

“The problem with Ethan obviously is that he got a taste of the first team last season and a little bit this season, but he’s still young and he’s still learning,” Seaman said. talkSPORT.

“For me at least he’s on loan, but if I were him I’d stay where I am because you never know what can happen with injuries and all that.

“With Ethan, I would hate to see him go somewhere else because he’s such a good player. Playing time is what you’re looking for,” he added. “When you play friendlies and academy games it’s not the same.

‘You need that playing time and you have to make decisions in matches, not just in training.

‘In training there are no consequences, so you never really learn much about decision-making, only in matches you learn everything about the pace of the match and all that kind of stuff’

“So at most a loan, but I would still like him to stay there.”
