The top five on ESPN’s NBA Rank 2025, mentioned here of #5-1, are Victor Wemabnyama (France), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece), Luka Doncic (Slovenia), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Canada) and Nikola Jokic (Songia).
Edwards finds himself just for other American players while they occupy spots #7-10 on the NBA rank of ESPN. In order of #7-10, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Jalen Brunson are. While Curry, James and Durant are all legends of all time and considered one of the best players in competition history, they will be 37, 40 and 37 years old respectively when the 2025-26 season starts. Each of them is more than a decade older than Edwards, who was 24 years old on 5 August.
International players have recently dominated the MVP prize
It is quite remarkable that the top American player is only considered the sixth best NBA player. That would seem incomprehensible for a large part of the history of the sport, but in today’s game we have seen more and more international players play in the competition.
