Overview
What has three rows of seats, two electric motors and a legendary emblem on the grille? The 2027 Cadillac Vistiq, for example. (If you guess Escalade IQ, you’ll also get a gold star.) Among three-row electric SUVs, the Vistiq is one of the best values, offering at least 300 miles of range per charge. And just because it’s inferior to the cruise ship-sized mega-luxury Escalade IQ doesn’t mean it skimps on amenities.
The Vistiq’s electric powertrain delivers a healthy 615 horsepower, and acceleration is predictably quick. The ride is also agile, although the steering isn’t as sensitive as we’d like. Buyers interested in space and tech will find both in abundance in the Vistiq’s interior, headlined by a large 33.0-inch curved touchscreen infotainment system. Adult riders can fit in the third row without complaining much about space.
Expert tip: If you don’t need the third row, one of Cadillac’s smaller electric options – the Optiq or Lyriq – can save you some money and open the door to a slightly longer range.
What’s new for 2027?
The Vistiq will enter its second year before 2027 and we don’t expect to see any changes to the three-row EV SUV.

Prices and which ones to buy
The base Luxury comes with plenty of high-end equipment, including Cadillac’s excellent Super Cruise hands-free driving feature. A large 33.0-inch infotainment display, a 23-speaker AKG stereo system, 21-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof and front seats with heating, ventilation and massage are all standard.
EV engine, power and performance
- EV engines: Double engine of 615 hp
- Drives: four-wheel drive
All Vistiq models are powered by two electric motors that together deliver 615 hp and offer all-wheel drive. Adaptive dampers are standard and an air suspension system is optional. The Vistiq is also available with an optional rear-wheel steering system, which adds extra agility and makes the large SUV easier to maneuver in tight spots and around town.
When we test drove the Vistiqwe were impressed by the quiet cabin and docile road manners. The Vistiq carries its weight well, but the steering is numb and characterless. For those who prefer a more involved driving experience, the cheaper Luxury and Sport models feature coil-sprung suspension and smaller wheels that make the Vistiq feel more agile and responsive.
0-60 MPH times
- CD 60 mph test: 3.6 seconds
For comparison: The Vistiq was quicker to 60 mph in our tests than key rivals such as the Lucid Gravity Touring (3.7 seconds) and the Volvo EX90 Dual Motor Performance (4.1 seconds). All three EV SUVs push you hard into the backrest.
Towing and loading capacity
The Vistiq can tow up to 5,000 pounds, which will make it useful for occasional trailering duties. As our tests have shown, the range is decreased significantly when towing a heavy trailer.
Range, charging and battery life
- CD Range test: 250 miles
- EPA EV Range: 300-305 miles
The EPA rates all Vistiqs for more than 300 miles of driving per charge. On a DC fast charging connection, the battery could add about 130 kilometers of driving pleasure in just 10 minutes.
On our fuel-efficient real-world route, run at a steady speed of 75 mph, the Vistiq achieved a range of 250 miles. We’ll also put the Vistiq’s battery through our DC fast charging test and update this story with real-world results.
Fuel economy and MPGe in the real world
- c/DFuel consumption test on the highway at 120 km/h: 75MPGe
- EPA city rating: 93MPGe
- EPA Highway Rating: 78MPGe
The EPA estimates the Vistiq’s MPGe ratings at 93 MPGe city, 78 MPGe highway and 86 MPGe combined. In our real-world 75 mph highway fuel economy test, we observed 75 MPGe. MPGe stands for miles per gallon gas equivalent, an EPA metric that estimates the fuel efficiency of PHEV and EV vehicles. For more information about the Vistiq’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website.
Interior, comfort and luggage
First row: The Vistiq’s premium interior design is accentuated by wood finishes in a variety of colors and patterns, as well as nickel-finished metal accents. There are also some eco-friendly options, including fabric upholstery made from recycled materials.
Second row: A three-row bench is standard in the second row, but Cadillac offers a pair of captain’s chairs as an option. The passenger compartment is generous, so tall people will have no trouble finding a comfortable seating position. There’s also a display on the back of the center console that allows rear-seat riders to adjust their climate controls.
Third row: The Vistiq’s fold-out third row of seats offers space for two people. Although it is less spacious than the second row, children and smaller adults fit well. The seats themselves are fairly flat and the cushioning isn’t as generous as up front, so long journeys can cause sore backsides.
Loading capacity: When the third row is in use, the Vistiq’s cargo space is small; during our testing we managed to fit just three carry-on suitcases. With the second and third rows folded, however, there’s plenty of room for cargo, and we were able to fit 33 carry-ons in there.
Infotainment and connectivity
- Infotainment: 33.0-inch touchscreen
- Connectivity: Bluetooth
- Audio system: AKG stereo with 23 speakers
A massive 33.0-inch curved display is the splashy tech feature in the Vistiq’s cabin, and we can report that the graphics are sharp and the software relatively responsive. It offers both touchscreen functionality and a center console-mounted click wheel that offers several ways to interact with the system. A separate, smaller touchscreen extends from the front edge of the console and provides access to climate controls and other functions.
Neither Apple CarPlay nor Android Auto are included here. An AKG-tuned 23-speaker stereo is standard on all models.
Safety and driver assistance features
Not only do you get Cadillac’s highly capable Super Cruise hands-free driving technology as standard, but you can also order an optional night vision feature that uses an infrared sensor to detect pedestrians and animals in the vehicle’s path.
- Standard safety features: automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assistant, adaptive cruise control
For information on the Vistiq’s crash test results, please contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Road Safety (IIHS) websites.
Warranty and maintenance coverage
Like Cadillac’s gasoline-powered SUVs, the Vistiq comes with a powertrain warranty that exceeds that of other premium people carriers. Cadillac currently provides the first dealer service visit, but rivals such as the BMW iX and the VolvoEX90 offer longer periods of free maintenance.
- Limited Warranty: four years or 50,000 miles
- Powertrain warranty: six years or 70,000 miles
- Free maintenance: first visit
