After Border Czar Tom Homan promised to “flood the zone” with ice officers in response to the shooting of an off-Duty American customs and border protection (CBP) officer in New York City, Mayor Eric Adams replied or he will collaborate with the performance of the Trump administration.
Adams said he would support all the efforts to “go after dangerous people, such as this person who shot an innocent customs and border patrol agent.”
“If he is going to help us go after those individuals, I welcome it,” he said, adding to it, “if it will be to go behind everyday people who try to complete the path to be a burger, I don’t think we should do that.”
Adams, who runs as an independent for re -election, appealed to the shooting during a press conference on Monday. He said he visited the wounded officer and that he “is extremely angry that we have a customs and border patrol officer who is in the hospital because a person who should not have been on our street.”
The CBP officer is currently being admitted to the hospital in a stable state.

In response to the Minister of Interior Security that Kristi Noeem looks out as responsible for the shooting because of the New York City sanctuary, Adams said: “I have nothing to do with the rules that are being introduced. I simply carry out the rules.”
He blamed the reform laws of the criminal bail that was adopted under the former government of New York Andrew Cuomo, who also runs for Mayor as independent. He said that the bail reform adopted under Cuomo has created a “running through the criminal justice of the door” with which people like the shooters could get back on the street.
“You know how indignant I am because of Andrew’s bail reform about how we have this rotating door right system,” he said.
“I am very clear. I have always been clear,” he continued. “Stop the running door system, go after the dangerous migrants and asylum seekers who are here and allow hardworking people in this city to continue their lives while they go through the process.”

The mayor also has mixed reporting on his relationship with President Donald Trump and tackled the administration and said, “You confuse me. Do you know?”
“If they say I’m doing well, you attack me and say that they never criticize me and I never criticize them, although we have brought the administration more to court than every mayor in the country,” he said. “And if they say I’m doing something wrong, you say, why are you not upset that they have said that I did something wrong. You can’t have it in both ways. You know, we are not on the hip.”
“But when they mention my name of the good things I do, you all say that I am in their pocket, I am under their thumb. I mean, what is it? I am a bit confused here. You know, they have their perspective, I have my perspectives, and then we sometimes come together.”
The CBP officer is said to have been shot in the face and forearm in the Riverside Park of Manhattan on Saturday evening in an attempted theft by two criminal illegal immigrants. Two suspects, Dominican Nationals Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez and Cristian Aybar Berroa, were arrested in connection with the shooting.

Name has said that Aybar-Berroa has a criminal record in New York City and that Detainers were “ignored” because of the policy of Adams Sanctuary City.
In the meantime, the socialist mayor candidate Zohran Mamdani, the mayor’s candidate of the Democratic Party, has stopped the shooting.
The social media messages and website of Mamdani do not show a public explanation about this issue, which has become national news and led to a broader discussion about the border policy of President Joe Biden and criticism of the cities of sanctuary.
Activist and Republican mayor candidate Curtis Sliwa commented on the incident on his X account and said: “A violent illegal alien perhaps pulled the trigger, but it was Eric Adams’s reckless policy that created the conditions to happen. He certainly has blood on his hands.”
Sliwa also said: “I am the only candidate on the mood that opposes the status of the sanctuary. Adams, Cuomo and Mamdani support it all.”
