Premier League Women

Unbeaten Women’s Premier Division leaders Surbiton host local rivals Wimbledon, who are in form and unbeaten in their last six matches following a 2-1 home defeat on the opening day. Wimbledon won 2-1 at Surbiton at this stage of the season in 2024, but Surbiton took revenge at the next stage with a 4-1 away win. Hampstead & Westminster, who trail the leaders on goal difference, will look to defend their unbeaten record at Nottingham University, who have won just once so far. East Grinstead, who are three points further away, travel to Bowdon. EG are in good form with four wins in a row, while Bowdon will be looking for points to count towards a top six finish.

At the bottom of the table, Clifton are the only team without a point so far, but came close last weekend with two defeats, by just one goal. They travel to Birmingham University, who are currently sixth. Both matches between the teams in 2024-2025 ended in 1-1 draws. Loughborough Students sit just below Birmingham and are on a run of four games without a win. They welcome fifth-placed Reading, who beat them three times last season.

Barnes makes the long journey to Durham University in a battle between the two promoted sides and a first meeting since 2008. Barnes will be buoyed by early points from last Sunday’s win against Nottingham University and will include a number of former Durham players into their ranks. After two wins in their first two games, Durham have lost all five games since.

Open/Eredivisie Men

Top play bottom of the Open/Men’s Premier Division while leaders Surbiton travel to Beeston, who are yet to pick up a point, including two one-goal losses last weekend. Surbiton will look to maintain their 100% start and there will certainly be fireworks as the Nottingham Hockey Center hosts their early bonfire evening show in the evening. Second-placed Wimbledon travel to Southgate for the first time since the league format change. Wimbledon are unbeaten and have won five of six matches so far, while Southgate won for the first time last weekend and moved up to ten.e. Brooklands MU welcome fourth-placed Old Georgians who ended a run of three games without a win with their 9-1 win at East Grinstead last Sunday, while the home side lost two games last weekend.

Fifth plays third as Holcombe presenter Hampstead & Westminster. The teams shared 3-2 wins in the two meetings last season, both with away wins. Saturday’s match sees Hampstead’s Damon Steffens, the division’s top scorer with ten goals, against Holcombe’s Teague Marcano, who has nine. East Grinstead makes the short journey to Oxted for the A22 derby. Sixth-placed Oxted are unbeaten since an opening day defeat, but this includes four draws and they lead only two points over EG, whose record is more mixed as the teams battle for a place in the top six. The teams just below, Cardiff & Met and Reading, meet in Wales, both teams are on seven points.
