England Captain Nat Sciver Brunt will miss the rest of the T20i series against India due to a groin injury

England women’s team captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has been ruled out of the remainder of the series against India. The visitors already hold a 2-1 lead against the hosts in the five-match series. Sciver sustained a groin injury during the 3rd T20I that saw her leave the field midway.

As per reports, Nat Sciver-Brunt will miss the remainder of the T20I series and is likely to return for the ODI series that begins on July 16. Beaumont will lead England women in the absence of Brunt. England have named Maia Bouchier replacement for the injured star.

Nat Sciver-Brunt will miss the rest of the Vitality IT20 series against India due to the injury to her left groin she sustained in Bristol,” England cricket said in a statement.

Sciver did not bowl in the first two T20Is that she was a part of, as per workload management. She picked up a groin injury in the 2nd T20I where she managed to score just 13 runs. So far, India have won two matches, having defeated England by 97 and 24 runs respectively. England managed to sneak a five-run win against India in the 3rd T20I to sneak back into the contest.
