England registered their largest T20 international victory ever by crushing South Africa with 146 runs in the second T20i in Manchester. Phil Salt’s sizzling 141 not out and Jos Butler’s 83 Powered England to a record 304 for 2.
Salt and buttler dominated from the start and set up a 126-run opening position in just 8 overs. Jacob Bethell added 26 and Captain Harry Brook did not end with a fast 41. The 304 of England is now the highest total due to a test-playing nation in T20Is.
South Africa chases a mountain and never recovered. Aiden Markram top with 41 of 20 balls, while Ryan Rickelton 20. Jofra Archer (3/25), Sam Curran (2/11), Liam Dawson (2/34), and Will Jacks (2/2) walked through the Proteas’ Batting Line Liep, she just before 158 in.
