Dig deeper: Revenue teams struggle with execution despite widespread AI adoption
What is the future of enablement platforms?
Most enablement platforms started as sales enablement platforms and include four core capabilities: sales team content management, readiness, guidance, and workflows and analytics.
As revenue organizations evolved, companies like Forrester began calling this category “revenue enablement,” a nod to the need for marketing, sales, customer success, and other pre-sales roles, such as business development representatives, to collaborate across the platforms.
It is a difficult area for suppliers to demonstrate ROI. The effectiveness of these platforms depends heavily on the willingness of teams to use the features correctly and regularly.
In large, global organizations, enabling platforms need to understand local governance and multilingual and multicultural content needs.
Then of course there is the integration challenge. Tools that need to connect to modern enablement platforms include CRM, email, meeting applications, chat apps, content management systems, digital asset management, learning management systems, conversation intelligence and more.
In announcing the merger, Highspot and Seismic both highlighted the continued development of AI features, which could help users more easily navigate enablement systems and assist with integration and data silos.
