Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterine expressed his concerns on Tuesday Elon Musk’s dealing with freedom of expression on its social media platform, Xamid what he claimed was a “coordinated hatred” of the European Union.
Buterin accuses Musk of tweaking X algorithms
Buterin highlighted how
“I am deeply concerned that in a few years there will be a huge backlash against the values I hold dear,” the cryptocurrency magnate said, stating that attacks on Europe on the platform are “spreading out of control.”
Buterin prefers kindness to Ragebait
When asked if he would censor speech he “don’t like,” Buterin accused Musk of “actively tweaking” algorithms to boost certain things and deboost others.
“As long as that power lever exists, I would prefer it to be used [without increasing its scope] to increase kindness rather than fadbait,” he said.
The X-Team did not immediately return Benzinga’s request for comment.

Musk’s conflict with the EU
Buterin’s concerns come in the wake of Musk’s call to abolish the EU, after X was fined $140 million for violating the bloc’s online content rules. Musk’s call came after the Hungarian Prime Minister reposted a statement on corruption in the EU Viktor Orban.
The European Commission accused X of violating the transparency rules of the EU Digital Services Act. Musk warned against a response aimed at the top officials who imposed the fine.
Critics have accused Musk of exerting political influence through his social media presence. An analysis by nbc news last month found that the Tesla And SpaceX CEO uses X to spread content related to immigrants, violent crime, and judges he views as overly lenient.
