Ella Pashley and Connor Green have been rewarded for eye-catching wins at WTT Star Contender London with big rises in the world rankings.
Pashley, who started the event at number 908, finished 446 places at number 463 after reaching the third qualifying round with victories over Mille Stoffregen (DEN, 525) and Fatimo Bello (NGR, 118).
Green (pictured above) defeated world number 55 Feng Yi-Hsin in the round of 64 after receiving a wildcard into the main draw – a victory that sees him move up 52 places to 220.
Jersey’s Hannah Silcock enters the women’s rankings at number 473 thanks to her memorable victory over Italy’s Debora Vivarelli (WR 143) in the second qualifying round.
Among the other English players to record victories, David McBeath rises 407 places to 575 and Joseph Hunter joins the list at number 623 ā both won in the opening qualifying round at the Copper Box Arena.
A number of other English players picked up useful points by appearing in qualifying or in the main draw, including Sam Walker who rose four places to 176 and Paul Drinkhall who rose 44 places to 321 and Andrew Baggaley who rose 43 places to 414. Tom Jarvis remains at number 78, with the injured Liam Pitchford at number 64.
Tin-Tin Ho rises 14 to number 215 and remains England’s number 1, while Tianer Yu climbs seven places to 242.
