The previously canceled battery-electric version of the Maserati MC20-OOT that facelified if the MCPURA its can be revived and can be brought to the market if there is sufficient customer demand for it, Coach has reported.
Initially known as the MC20 Folgore, the electric version of the Mid-REAR-REAR-Motor-Motor sports car could still go to production if the McPura Folgore, because the EV model was on hold instead of downright, said Maserati CEO Santo Ficili.
“Let’s say we’ll see. The project is advanced, but we have decided to understand what is going to happen. We have this fantastic V6 engine that is to the satisfaction of our customers. We have a different kind of power. This is our motorcycle at the moment,” Ficili said.

The CEO of Maserati said he had no “crystal ball” to see when there will be a market for an electric supercar, and that it was crucial “to have the customer ready to buy a car like this” before he invests more in the project according to the report.
In the meantime, Ficili had said that Maserati is considering a flagship model with a limited run, possibly with a manual transmission. Allegedly based on the Granturismo, this will be accompanied by a twin model from Alfa Romeo, in a way comparable to the way in which the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is based on the Maserati MC20.
The pre-room combustion technology in the Nettuno engine set for the flagship with a limited run means that Maserati can keep the engine in production and is able to make the same output figures as soon as Euro 7 emission regulations are in force, Coach previously reported.
