Electric Dodge Chargers and Jeep Wagoneer SS remembered for rolling away in Park – Jalopnik

Stellantis is perhaps proud of his EV movements, with old brands such as Dodge and Jeep that come in on electrical strength, but it seems that the transition is not without teething problems. The 2024 and 2025 Dodge Charger EV and Jeep Wagoneer were both recalled for problems with their electric drive modules, which could lead to the vehicles rolling away when they have to be parked – a problem that Stellantis specifically hates to ever suffer again.

The issue only affects a handful of vehicles, 75 in total between the Charger and Wagoerers, but they are spread over almost a full production year – August 2024 to March 2025 for the Wagoneer S, and August 2024 to April 2025 for the Charger. If you have picked up one of those models during that period, you may have an incorrectly installed “Park Pawn Return Spring” with which you can roll away shiny new car, regardless of the equipment in which it is.

Stellantis is of course no stranger to roll out problems. In 2016, actor Anton Yelchin was killed by his own run -away Jeep Grand Cherokee – a model that was recalled for a confusing gearbox, so drivers often thought the car was parked when it was in fact still in neutral. Although this new issue does not yet have to kill “Star Trek” actors, at least as far as I know, it is actually worse than the issue that Yelchin killed. Drivers left that problem neutral, while it allows the car to roll, even if you are absolutely sure it is in the park.

Owners of affected vehicles must hear about the recall later this month, but that is possible Check NHTSA’s Recall site now If you think you may be influenced. Fortunately, Stellantis quickly got a grip on this – many of those vehicles are probably with their first owners, making it easy to get the company aware of the work required. Hopefully it is an easy solution for the affected cars, and drivers can soon go back to their dead Silent EV-Burn-Outs.
