El Macero Country Club in El Macero, California, will unveil his recently renovated golf course to members on Monday 1 September after a four-month renovation project, multi-million dollar. The renovation work around the Greens offer members several shot options with improved peat conditions, newly designed collecting areas and reduced bunker footprints.
The most important highlights of the renovation include:
– The areas around greens complexes were stripped and reformed to better reveal bunkers from Fairways, then softened and formed to let water flow away from the greens. These areas were subsequently resodated with a Tiftuf Hybrid Bermudagrass and collars around green edges were sowed with bentgrass.
– Crews reduced the square meters of bunkers across the golf course by 60 percent, with the renovated bunkers getting new drainage, linings and pure white sand.
– The updated bunkers also have more access points, which makes access to access and improves course conditions.
“We are very happy with how the renovation turned out,” said Chris Johnson, general manager of El Macero Country Club. “With the newly renewed bunkers and more shot options around Greens, golfers will discover new ways to play the track.”

“The contours and improvements to the new bunkers with the striking white sand are not only visually amazing, but they create new sight lines for players considering their approach,” said El Macero Country Club member and Northern California Golf Journalist Frank Larosa.
Santa Rosa, California Golfplan-Dale & Ramsey Golf Course Architecture supervised the course renovation, while Mr Golf Construction was the contractor.
