With the draw for the women’s FINAL12 and the men’s FINAL8, preparations were made on Sunday evening in Barcelona for the ABN AMRO EHL FINALS next Easter – organized by HC ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
In the women’s competition, Irish champions Railway Union will take on Scottish newcomers Watsonian Hockey Club in the FINAL12, with the winner facing hosts and reigning champions HC ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
In the next part of the draw, last year’s bronze medalists Gantoise will start their campaign against SK Slavia Prague. The winner of that match will play against Spanish number one Club de Campo de Madrid.
On the other side of the draw, English debutants Reading will face 2024 finalists Mannheimer HC. The German champion Harvestehuder THC awaits them in the FINAL8.
And in the final quadrant of the draw, Dutch SCHC will face Spanish Copa de la Reina winners Club Egara in the FINAL12 stage. Whoever wins will advance to the Belgian champions and last year’s silver medalists, Braxgata.
On the men’s side, the FINAL8 draw features two Dutch-German battles on the left side of the draw. AH&BC Amsterdam will take on the KO16 qualifier Hamburger Polo Club, with the winner of that match facing SV Kampong or Crefelder HTC.
In the other half of the draw, English champions Surbiton will face Club de Campo de Madrid, who starred in Barcelona last weekend.
Their prize for progress will be a FINAL4 date with Old Georgians – after their memorable win over Bloemendaal – or reigning champions Gantoise.
The match schedule and ticket details will be confirmed later this week.
