Ireland lost 1-0 early against Hungary, but talisman Parrott equalized from the spot.

Barnabas Varga put the hosts ahead again, and it would remain so until the 80th minute, when Parrott scored again to give his country hope. A draw wouldn’t be enough, however, and Ireland were staring at another disappointing end to a qualifying bid.

But Parrott steps up and pounces on a Liam Scales move to poke past Denes Dibusz.

The goal caused delirium among the Irish players, traveling fans and across the country. For Parrott, it sees its shares rise to an all-time high.

However, the importance of these EFL loans should not be overlooked. Of course, ideally he would have gone out and scored loads of goals with Millwall, Ipswich Town and Preston North End. Nevertheless, they will have been great learning experiences, giving him a good foundation for the years to come.
