Eddie Howe commented on Alexander Isak’s situation before and after Sunday’s Tottenham match

Eddie Howe again questioned Alexander Isak.

The Newcastle United Baas has just seen its players who have done a much improved performance against Tottenham.

United goes behind a very early goal, but as soon as he settled, Eddie Howe sees his side the better team in the course of the 90+ minutes.

Newcastle United deserved to win, but had to do it with a draw, thanks to an excellent team movement finished by Harvey Barnes.

But after the last whistle, however, Alexander Isak again at the top of the agenda

Eddie Howe asked if Alexander Isak will train this next week with Newcastle United …?

“Of course I would like him to be.

“But I don’t know if he wants that at the moment.

“Other people have had to deal with that situation at home”

You must have all the sympathy for Eddie Howe, no one else in the club that helps him with the current chaos, so the NUFC head coach is the only one talking about something on behalf of the club.

Perhaps a good idea if somewhere in the future the owners of Newcastle United can hire a new CEO and/or Sporting Director.

Yesterday, Eddie Howe was also questioned about Alexander Isak and what happened, what was going to happen …

Eddie Howe spoke yesterday during his Press Conference of Pre-Tottenham about Alexander Isak-Saturday 2 August 2025:

Eddie Howe asked on Friday about the media claims with regard to an £ 110 million bid from Liverpool for Alexander Isak:

“I became aware that yesterday (Friday) there was an offer (for Alexander Isak from Liverpool), which was almost rejected before I even heard about it.

“There are people back in England who have to do with the situation.

“I am very removed from everything that happens at home.

“I really don’t know what will happen.

“But from our perspective we still support Alex in every way.

“My wish is still that we see him in a shirt in Newcastle (this coming season).”

Eddie Howe asked if he was angry with Liverpool for disturbing Alexander Isak:

‘It’s hard because you don’t know what will happen.

“There may be all kinds of conversations, all kinds of hypothetical situations, but then you are dealing with reality.

“The reality is that we had that offer from Liverpool yesterday, that was rejected.

“In terms of trying to make players upset?

“From my perspective I can only talk about us.

“We try to do things in the right way.

“Signing players is always complex and we just try to do what we think is good.

‘I can’t talk about other clubs …

“That’s not me to say.”

Eddie Howe asked about the media reports that Alexander Isak is doing fitness work in San Sebastian, on the Real Sociedad training field and whether he has permission to do this:

“I know where he is, really, through the media.

“From that perspective, it is difficult for me to go in any form of detail.

“The situation is far from ideal and quite complex.”
