What happened: A poll by the economist/Yougov shows a growing disapproval of Trump’s presidency among Americans.
The study showed that 40% of the respondents approved the presidency handling by Trump, while 56% made a rejection. The survey Also emphasized a partisan gap, in which most Democrats rejected Trump and approve most Republicans.
Trump’s highest approval classification came from that of 65 years and older, with 48% that approved. On the other hand, the lowest approval percentage was one of that of 18 to 29 years, with 29% that expressed approval.
The poll showed that 23% of Americans “strongly approve” Trump’s work as president, while 47% “strongly rejects”.

An earlier poll from Reuters/Ipsos this month showed a seven-point decrease in approval for Trump’s handling of the presidency, with his approval at 40% as in the new economist/Yougov survey.
Meanwhile a PEW Research Center survey Mid August, the current rating of Trump’s current approval of task at 38%.
Why it matters: The decrease in approval ratings is an important development in Trump’s second term. The growing disapproval among Americans and the partisan gap that is emphasized in the survey can have consequences for the policy -making and political strategy of the administration.
The grim difference in approval classifications between different age groups also points to a potential generation division in political opinion.
