Ebereechi Eze: Crystal Palace Star talks about FA Cup Win, Premier League Title Ambitions, Eze Foundation and England Hopes

“Everything for me to win, I want to win, and I will do everything I can do to win the Premier League.”

The words of a radiant Ebereechi Eze who has just enjoyed his best season ever. A winning goal in the FA Cup final to Down Manchester City and Crystal Palace to earn, their first great honor in a 163-year-old history has only awakened his appetite for more.

May 17, 2025 marked an opportunity that he had already played in his head. So although important, it was not a shock.

“I dreamed to play at that level and do things like that from when I was young, so I saw that happening in my head for years.

“For me it is just the manifestation of something that has been in my mind, something I prayed for.

“I am probably not as surprised as everyone else, but of course I am grateful that God gets the chance to be in that position.

“To be able to do that and bring a trophy to South, that is the biggest thing, something that the club has never had before – a trophy. So to be part of the team that did that, I have almost no words.”

Ebereechi Eze reflects on his FA Cup victory with Crystal Palace and talks about his foundation ‘The Eze Foundation’

In many ways, Eze’s path to a Wembley triumph is proof that the pursuit of success is not linear. Eze’s journey is one that started at a young age with rejection, with Arsenal, Fulham and Millwall all let him go before he turned 18.

But now in Palace he pulls strings that have never been drawn to the club, who are writing in folklore and stand on the shoulders of giants, who could not achieve what he and his teammates have.

Eze: returning has always been to our hearts

Ebereechi Eze spoke with Sky Sports during the third annual Eze Foundation Invitational.

It is intended to bring young people together to offer them the opportunity to play at no cost. The invitation itself is organized by Ebereechi itself.

“We want to give them the opportunity to play football for free and to experience what it is like to be in a club like this, to be in an environment like this and have no worries other than playing football.

“Giving back has always been something in our hearts.”

“You look at the players who played in this club; important players who were part of the foundation to even be a Premier League club and to maintain that status.

“I understand that it is not that we have not just surfaced and have won a trophy, there has been so much that it went into this and so much that happened in advance and made it possible.

“It is gratitude and gratitude for us to be in this position, we are the ones who are to cancel it, but also a deep appreciation for everything that left us. Everyone who went for us, all the things that have been done – this is just a part of the journey.”

The man who is credited for bringing the top together is Oliver Glasner, who, according to Eze, can deliver much more for Palace.

“He is a top coach, a top man, there are certainly big things to come,” said Eze

“He is intense and he is convinced of what he believes in, knows what he wants from his players, from his team.

“I feel that this has been shown in the way we mainly played by the end of the season. How the form we picked up, processes, that’s what he is driven, that’s what he understands. He knows that if he has a team that does what he wants, he is sure he can win and that was the motto for the whole season.”

England -Baas Thomas Tuchel was present to view Eze’s Wembley Heroics. In March, in the second match of Tuchel who was responsible for the national team, Eze scored his first goal of England, which further contributed to the headache that the German boss has when it comes to his squad selection. The competition for places is something that contributes to the excitement of Eze prior to the World Cup next year.

“Being in the English team is always the goal. You want to become a mainstay in the team, you want to earn your position in the team, that’s something that I try to do every day. Of course there is so much competition.

“So many different players to choose the manager, so it’s not necessarily an easy job, but for me I can only keep playing my football what I do, keep enjoying my football and I don’t try to concentrate that much on that.

“I can only influence what I am doing now, so I trust that if I do what I am doing now, it will take care of myself.

“I am very excited [about England]I now enjoy my football, I feel good. I am quite a few injuries and a bit of a strange start to the season, also a strange middle part of the season, so to be in this position now and to feel good, to feel free and to express myself completely, that’s all I want to do.

“I believe in myself, so as long as I can do that, I always trust that I have a chance.”

So what after your best season ever? For Eze – more of the same:

“I just want to enjoy, express, entertain, bring love for the people in the stands when they see me play and win” “
