East Flatbush Storybook House with Garage asks $ 4,500

With the 1930s style over, this eastern flatbush house for rent checks many boxes for a relatively low monthly nut. There are many bedrooms and bathrooms – three and 2.5 respectively – a garage, recreation room and air conditioning.

Part of a row of four, the single-family roads on 1186 Brooklyn Avenue was designed by architect J. Inensen and completed in 1930, according to the 1931 certificate. The semi-confirmed corner house has windows on three exposures, and the circa 1940 Tax photo Shows that it retains some of his storybook Tudor functions, including a tower, created parapet, prominent chimney and steep roof.

Those details enter, where the living room leads a brick fireplace with a hood and a imaginative Ogee -Boog, leads to the dining room. Everywhere there are parquet floors with inserted edges, plaster walls with image rails, original frame and historic doors, all in apparently fine condition.

The recently updated kitchen has wooden cupboards, stone countertop, tile backsplash and leaf floors in neutral colors. The bedrooms are of good size, all with cupboards and the largest with three windows. Although the photos show window units in the bedrooms, the list indicates that the upper floor is cooled by mini splits.

In the main bathroom is the original Deco bath and a separate shower, along with updated white metro wall tile and marble-look floors. The other bathrooms are not depicted.

In the basement REC Room is another fireplace and a mini-split unit. There is also a bathroom with shower at this level, mechanicals, the garage and office and a utility room – although it is not clear whether it contains a washing machine/dryer.

The house is mentioned by Scott Savory of Compass and costs $ 4,500 a month. What do you think?
