Dynasty Fantasy Football Trade Watch: Buy/Sell/Hold Week 6 | PlayerProfiler

6 minutes, 10 seconds Read

It’s becoming put-or-shut-up time for dynasty fantasy football managers. We’re entering Week 6 and at this point you should have a pretty good idea whether you’re going to chase a championship or look up the 2026 rookie mock drafts for Halloween. Use this to inform your dynasty fantasy football trading decisions.

If you’re 5-0 or 4-1 and most of your team has avoided the infirmary, now’s the time to take on those fellow competitors at the bottom of the leaderboard. Like a shark smelling blood in the water. Check to see if there are any veterans languishing on their roster. Guys like Davante Adams, Mike Evans, Terry McLaurin, Alvin Kamara, Derrick Henry and Travis Kelce should be viable for a modest price and could pay dividends down the road. Teams that are rebuilding or clearly out of it don’t need these points on their roster. Go get them!

Managers of 0-5 or 1-4, it’s time for an honest roster review. If you can’t realistically get to a second half, you should sell everyone over 25 at value. Remove those outdated assets from your squad and turn them into youth or picks before injuries or poor play undermine their value.

If you’re looking for an edge or advice on the best dynasty fantasy football trades to make before the bulk of Week 6 kicks off, I’ve got you covered. I’ve highlighted three players I think you should play buy, to sellor delay in week 6, depending on your schedule structure. Check them out below – and make some deals.

Dynasty Fantasy Football Trade Advice Week 6

Buy: WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers

Sometimes the real life production and the fantasy production don’t quite match. We’re seeing that happen now with Tetairoa McMillan.

The eighth overall pick in this year’s draft looks like a seasoned professional already on the field. He’s an all-down weapon who stretches the field and shows serious big-play chops for quarterback Bryce Young and the Panthers. McMillan already has nine explosive plays (WR9) and has an Explosive Rating (WR7) of 124.1 on PlayerProfiler.

His raw numbers aren’t shabby either: 24 catches for 351 yards (14.6 YPR). The problem is that McMillan has yet to find the end zone. McMillan currently leads the NFL in targets (43) without a TD. Pretty wild for a six-foot specimen with a length of four and a half forties. Can we please give this guy a jump ball in the end zone?

Advanced stats from Tetairoa McMillan

The rest of McMillan’s stats are solid for a rookie just five games into his career, hinting at a bright future as he continues to acclimate to the NFL:

  • #8 in route participation (95.8%)
  • #10 in air yards (490)
  • #16 in target share (25.3%)
  • #17 in yards after catch (112)
  • #21 in first downs per route (0.105)
  • #29 in yards per route (1.94)

McMillan won’t come cheap due to his youth and draft pedigree, but check with the manager in your league to take the temperature. Maybe they expected what Brian Thomas Jr. did last year, or what Emeka Egbuka is currently doing.

He’s definitely an early first-round pick and worth more considering what he’s shown so far. Don’t be afraid to pay – he’s pulling a woeful defense in Dallas this week; once the TDs start coming, its value will increase and you will have missed your buying window.

Sell: WR DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh Steelers

Expectations were sky high for DK Metcalf entering the season. I had visions of Aaron Rodgers bombarding him with double-digit targets every week, as he has done with his WR1s in the past.

A quarter of the season is over, that dream is flatter than a warm beer. Metcalf has seen just 22 targets (WR52) in four games. That’s just 5.5 per game – less than guys like Elic Ayomanor, Kendrick Bourne and Troy Franklin, and tied with Olamide Zaccheaus. Well done, Arthur Smith.

DK Metcalf’s 2025 game logs

The rest of these stats don’t do him any favors either, leading to a dismal 9.2 expected fantasy points per game (WR49):

  • #32 in target share (21.2%)
  • #66 in goal separation (1.27)
  • #85 in air yards (141)
  • #90 in ADOT (6.4)

Now there are glimmers of hope. Rodgers has a ridiculous 147.9 QB rating when targeting him, and Metcalf’s efficiency looks good: 0.109 first downs per route (WR17) and 2.37 yards per route (WR13). But let’s be honest: A lot of that is blown up by that 80-yard catch-and-run TD in the Week 4 international game. Guinness and Metcalf: Both another hit in Ireland.

We might see some changes in the bye week. You’d think the Steelers might want to throw more balls at their stud WR they traded for and signed to a four-year, $132 million extension. But there is no guarantee.

If you don’t participate and want to re-roll, it’s fine to pay Metcalf for a first-round pick. Or try to make him a little youthful and get someone like Quentin Johnston or Travis Hunter in return. Contenders should consider trading him for Chris Olave or Jaylen Waddle, or perhaps Kenneth Walker III or Travis Etienne Jr. if they need help with RB.

Guard: RB JK Dobbins, Denver Broncos

Toasting JK Dobbins is a lot like holding a volatile stock: great when it performs well, but you’re always nervous about a huge dip. Given his extensive injury history, it’s hard to trust him as a long-term asset to the dynasty.

Although, here and now? The guy is cooking. Dobbins is the RB13 in PPR scoring, with 100 rushing yards or a touchdown in every game so far. He averages 14.8 PPG, making him a rock-solid RB2 for your lineup.

What’s even more impressive is that it does this without much on-air production. Dobbins has just six receptions for a paltry 23 yards so far. Instead, he does it the old-fashioned way: by setting chunk plays to the regular music. Through five weeks, Dobbins ranks as the RB1 in PlayerProfiler’s Explosive Rating, powered by 14 runs of 10+ yards and a 9.1% breakaway percentage.

JK Dobbins’ explosive assessment

Dobbins’ role as the early down-thumper in Sean Payton’s offense appears secure. He is averaging 16.6 touches per game and has a 52.7% snap share while rotating with rookie RJ Harvey and Tyler Badie. As long as Dobbins continues to average 5.2 YPC and looks spry, he will continue to see the bulk of the work.

If you have it, enjoy the ride. Just wear a seat belt. At 26, Dobbins likely won’t sign another long-term deal; If he can stay healthy, he’ll likely have to spend the rest of his days on short-term contracts. But that kind of prove-it energy should keep him hungry. Unless someone hits you with an obvious overpayment, hold on to it.
