Another Grand Slam final, another confrontation between Carlos Alcaraz (UTR -Review 16.45) and Jannik Sinner (16.41). The US Open of the Heren 2025 Open on Sunday afternoon packed with Alcaraz who defeated Sinner, 6-2, 3–6, 6–1, 6–4, which confirms its place at the top of the US Open Tennis Podium.

“I feel that this is the best tournament,” said Alcaraz. “Since the first rounds until the end of the tournament, the best tournament so far that I have ever played. The consistency of my level during the entire tournament has really been very high, which I am really proud of, because it is something I have worked on, to be really consistent.”

There was an unusual delay from 37 minutes to the start of the men’s final because of extra security measures and bringing it safely on their seats. The reason? President Donald Trump attended the game, the first president to do this in 25 years.

The number of times that Alcaraz and Sinner have been opposed to each other so far. The Spaniard leads the rivalry, 10-5 and has won their last seven of the eight showdowns (in particular the 2025 Wimbledon final).

“So what I usually learned this year is about to take moments of every tournament, every experience you live and enjoy, and enjoy with my team, with my family, with the people you have,” said Alcaraz. “I think it’s great to take the time, see the trophy or see what you did in the tournament, and appreciate that, maintain it and enjoy it.”

The “new two” as they are called have settled firmly as the players to beat because they are combined to win the last eight Grand Slams. It is the longest line since Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have put together 11 consecutive large titles from 2005-2007.

With Sunday’s victory, Alcaraz picked up his sixth big title. At only 22 years old, he is the second-youngest male player who wins six, only older than Bjorn Borg. It also marks its second US Open Trophy.

By winning their semi -final on Friday, Alcaraz and Sinner became the first duo to compete in three Grand Slam final during the same season in the Open Age. Alcaraz got Novak Djokovic in straight sets, while Sinner defeated the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassy.

The winner of the final was destined to become the ATP No. 1 on Monday, which means that Alcaraz returns to the top position for the first time since September 2023 (Sinner was already 65 consecutive weeks number 1). But it is not in the ranking of UTR reviews where Sinner stays in the number 1 position with a 0.04 higher UTR -Rating.
