Split coaching for Team India?
Will BCCI remove Gautam Gambhir as Test head coach if India loses the 5-match Test series? InsideSport has learnt that the board won’t opt for split coaching as Gambhir is in charge of a team under transition. The BCCI hopes the series will turn around in India’s favour but they’ll back him regardless.

Arshdeep Singh to make Test debut
Team India is likely to play Arshdeep Singh in the Edgbaston Test. The left-arm pacer will make his red-ball debut replacing Jasprit Bumrah in the side. The leader of India’s pace attack will play in just two of the remaining four matches and will likely play at Lord’s next. Karun Nair and Sai Sudharsan are expected to continue.

Asia Cup 2025 schedule out soon
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will meet in July to finalise the schedule of the Asia Cup 2025. Initially, the tournament was going to feature 8 teams in a T20 format but Oman and Hong Kong won’t play anymore. Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the UAE will now face off in September.

Rishabh Pant’s doctor against somersault celebration
Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, the surgeon who treated Rishabh Pant after his car accident in 2022, believes that the wicketkeeper shouldn’t do the somersault celebration. The doctor pointed out that Pant is capable of doing the acrobatic celebrations due to his gymnastic background but they are unnecessary.

Shubman Gill, a defensive captain
Former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar thinks Shubman Gill was very defensive when it came to his captaincy in the Headingley Test. He pointed out that the field setting against the Bazballers wasn’t great and that he was pre-empting things. He stated that perhaps he should follow Virat Kohli’s leadership a little and show the opposition that they are coming for them.

Kuldeep Yadav ready to tackle Bazball
Kuldeep Yadav has taken some help from his Delhi Capitals mentor and England great, Kevin Pietersen. The left-arm wrist spinner didn’t play the first game, but reports suggest he may feature at Edgbaston and he’s ready for it. He says Pietersen has given his input about the pitches, how to set fields, and about the mindset of the England team. Read about it more, here.
