Dricus du Plessis has responded to those who think that Khamzat Chimaev is considerably larger than he is.
Recently images came forward from Du Plessis and Chimaev who exchanged polite features, just a few days before their UFC 319 title fight. Some fans who looked at the clip thought that Chimaev seemed to be towering above Du Plessis, while others pointed out that fans were duped by the perspective of the video. The UFC “Embedded” team had a different perspective of the short meeting with Du Plessis and Chimaev.

During an interview with Helen YeeDu Plessis agreed that fans make a big fuss about nothing (via Inappropriate).
“I mean, maybe it was the corner,” Du Plessis told Helen Yee. “I have not seen the video, but I can promise you – you will see, you will see. I stood in front of him. He is absolutely no longer than me. Maybe a bit, maybe half a centimeter.
The UFC champion middle weight also said that no heated words were exchanged during his short meeting with Chimaev. “Still Knocks” believes that both he and Chimaev realize that it is about the spirit of competition.
“He was very respectful. He came by and said hello,” said Du Plessis. “I mean, the fight happens on Saturday evening. People don’t pay to see this. Yes, it could have go in all directions. But now we know.”
Du Plessis is looking for Saturday’s event and will be looking for his third successful title defense. He has already maintained his grip on the gold with victories over Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland. Chimaev is unbeaten and has looked dominant in most of his periods. There have been a few exceptions with heavy fighting against Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns, and Du Plessis hopes to exploit gaps in the game of the challenger.
