Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green said he believes he has several productive seasons ahead of him. He told Mark Medina of EssentiallySports.com that he expects to continue playing for two to four years after this season.
“I feel great. I feel like I can go another two to four years. I think I always want to try to compete at an elite level,” Green said. “If I can’t do that, then it’s not as much fun. But what I’m saying is that I have more left than I thought at the moment.
“So as the years have gone by, the perception of when I will be ready has changed. I thought I would reach year 12 and I would break down. But by the time I got to year 12, I felt like I was still improving.”
Meanwhile, Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy walked back previous speculation and said Green was not being shopped before the trade deadline.
The player has a player option worth $27,678,571 for the final year of his contract and must decide whether to exercise it by June 29.
Vegetable has played 14 seasons for the Warriors. He averaged 8.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 926 regular season games.
He was selected to play in 4 All-Star games. He has won one Defensive Player of the Year award and four NBA championships.
