Personal growth is a process of developing new attitudes, skills and behaviors to improve your life and to fulfill your highest potential. If you have done some of this work before, you know the value of it. If this is your first time and you are in the right state of mind, you can use it to help your life move forward in ways that you may not have imagined.

For me, personal growth has been a lifelong chase. I have been a psychotherapist for more than 30 years, and for that I was what you could call a personal growth.
Nerdy grow up before it was cool, I never had the feeling that I was with it, or right to the other boys.
Personal growth As a young man took me to a place where I knew I could live the way I wanted. I became the captain of my own ship and developed the wish and skills to lend a hand to others. I took a workshop after the workshop and eventually led them. I saw several psychologists and therapists and eventually became one.

The work I did opened me for things that are bigger than myself. It was such a natural progression that it never felt like work. Instead, it felt like I lived my life in the right way, and I realized that this is how everyone wants to feel.
Perhaps the best tool I have used over the years is ‘Positive Thinking’, that is about training your mind to hold on to the good thoughts and to expel the bad. Simply put, we have to learn to look at the glass half full. Positive thinking helps you to deal with difficult situations and make your life more comfortable.
Most people are not natural positive thinkers, but positive thinking is simple enough to learn when you consider how much better it feels than the alternative. If you are interested, there are many workshops and self -help books that can teach you the steps. ‘The power of positive thinking’, by Norman Vincent Peale, was the first book on this subject for many of us.
If you know that you could use more self-in-terms, but you don’t like the idea of doing ‘therapy’, consider this as self-softening or positive thinking ‘training’. Whatever you call it, take the steps needed to do a good thing for yourself. We all go through difficult times at some point. The good news is that if you use a lifestyle that embraces personal growth, it makes the raw patches a little smoother.
This process can help you go through many of your blocks, doubts and difficulties, but it is not a replacement for medical treatment. If you suffer from depression or fear or ever have the desire to hurt yourself or someone else, look for a recognized professional. Help with mental health has never been available again. There is nothing wrong with looking for help. To be honest, it is wrong if you don’t.
