The Lions West Delhi were crowned champion of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 After registering an impressive six-wicket victory on Central Delhi Kings in the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. Skipper Nitish Rana Was the star of the night and produced a brilliant all -round performance covered by an unbeaten 79 that sealed the title for his side.
The lions chased the lions early setbacks as Simarjeet Singh And Arun Pundir struck to let them wiggle on 48/3 within five overs. The pressure of the final was clear, but Rana held his nerve. He first built a steady 42-run stand with Mayank Gusain before forming a decisive partnership with Hrithik Shokeen. While Shokeen wore a smooth 42, not from 27 balls, Rana calmly combined with calculated aggression to guide his team home without further problems.
Earlier the Kings placed 173/7 after a dramatic turnaround. Lowered to 78/6, they were revived by a challenging 78-run seventh-wicket partnership between Yugal Saini (65 from 48) and Pranshu Vijayran (50 not from 24). Their late attack shifted the momentum, but the total turned out to be insufficient against the strong pursuit of the lions.
For West Delhi, Manan Bhardwaj (2/11) and Shivank Vashisht (2/12) were excellent with the ball, while Rana entered 1/16 in four overs to underline his all -round impact.
