It was a roller coaster ride of a season for Yankees Shortstop Anthony Volpe.

The 24-year-old entered 2025 with expectations that he would take a step forward in his development.

As one of the best prospects in baseball, the arrival of full long -awaited and he warned the hype and he won the Al Gold Glove Award at Shortstop as Rookie. It was much of the same in year 2, so the hope for year 3 was an outbreak to add a real star. Instead, it was a bumpy road full of highs and lows.

Volpe had a pretty good start to the campaign, but the summer months have seen things disappear from the rails. From mid -June to the end of July, the bat became of full ice cold and his average fell on the road. He currently hits .217.

His struggles are even more worrying in short. Volpe looked uncomfortable and committed his competition 16th mistake against Tampa Bay on Wednesday evening.

No matter how bad it is, Volpe seems to have found his groove the bat. He came in the game on Wednesday with five HRs and eight RBI in his last 10 games and hit another house run to bind the game in the second half of the ninth inning, so that a pretty good throw from Rays poet Pete Fairbanks took the seats. The Yankees (59-49) then won a 5-4 thriller in 11 innings, largely thanks to the Volpe bat.

That home run was his 16th of the season.
