The Los Angeles Dodgers were just swept by the Los Angeles Angels and fell from the first place in the National League West, but Shohei Ohtani did what he could keep his team up.

In the course of the three-game series, Ohtani 3-out-10 went with two home runs and four free running. He also started the game on the Heuvel on the Heuvel, threw 4.1 innings and allowed four points with seven strikeouts.

In Wednesday’s game, Ohtani wrote history, which has not been seen in baseball for at least 125 years.

According to MLB researcher Sarah by Vision, Ohtani since at least 1900 became the first starting pitcher to reach a Leadoff Triple.

Ohtani led the game on Wednesday evening with a triple and quickly scored on a Mookie Betts RBI Single. He then dominated in the bottom half of the first inning and switched Zach Neto and Mike Trout on their way to a 1-2-3 inning.

Ohtani allowed two runs in the second inning before he settled and went into the fifth inning for the first time this season. That is where things unraveled, because Ohtani allowed a few hits and a Neto two-run double before he was pulled.

After the game, Ohtani revealed what went wrong in his last inning.

“I just couldn’t finish hitters in the fifth,” Said Ohtani through his interpreter. “They have done a good job by bringing the balls into the game and that is what happens. So the next time I could do better.”

The Dodgers do not intend to throw Ohtani more than five innings, but the two -way star will strive for five innings in his next start next week.

“I still think it is unlikely,” Roberts said that Ohtani might have threw six innings in a start during the regular season. “I think five will be the maximum for this regular season.”

Earlier this week Roberts revealed why that was the case.

“I think the threshold of five inning is something that we think can help you through a game and use relievers,” said Roberts. “So you still weigh the fact of the costs to bring it more, right? So I think the threshold of five inning is now very comfortable.”
