Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani defied expectations, to say the least.
Friday night, with a chance to beat the Milwaukee Brewers (who finished with the best record in the MLB and defeated the Dodgers all six times they faced them in the regular season) in the NLCS, Ohtani answered the call.
On the mound, he struck out ten batters in more than six scoreless innings of work. At the plate, he blasted three home runs, one of which left Dodger Stadium. He posted a simple message on his Instagram account after the match, which leaves no doubt about what he wants to achieve next.

“Four more,” Ohtani wrote.
The Dodgers need four more wins to capture a World Series title and become the first team to do so in consecutive years in a quarter century. LA will play the Toronto Blue Jays or Seattle Mariners, who are still battling for their spot in what has been a back-and-forth ALCS.
Ohtani entered Game 4 with the aforementioned expectations, largely because of what his performance in October has been thus far. He was hitting just .158 entering Friday night and struck out 17 times.
After a 3-for-3 night with three home runs in a closeout game to get your team back to the Fall Classic, it’s safe to say expectations were met.
On the mound, Ohtani was solid, with just a three-run second inning during NLDS Game 1 being the only blemish on his postseason pitching resume.
His twelve innings total this postseason consist of 19 strikeouts, five hits and three earned runs.
Ohtani’s brilliance is otherworldly, and fans of the sport may never see anything like him again. As the superstar said on Instagram, there is a much bigger goal, and the job is far from done.
