The Los Angeles Dodgers have seen above average production of their starting pitchers this month, but it should not be a surprise that the rotation has been pushed more recently, at least not according to manager Dave Roberts.
While October looms up, the starters are certainly staged, led by Yoshinobu and his microscopic 0.86 ERA in his last 21 innings this month. Roberts noted that the increased workload on this point of the year is no coincidence.

“We try to win every game,” said Roberts. “I don’t want to visit this again, but one man we have been very good at is Shohei to strict (innovation boundaries). But everyone, I think if you look at the second half, we push boys, and we’re in a pennant race. It’s not about their health. We have to win games.”
The remarkable Ohtani-start was after he had thrown five no-hit innings against the Juggernaut Philadelphia Phillies, but was excluded from going out for the sixth.
The very first inning, the Phillies have placed six runs and would eventually win the game.
This was not the first time that the bullpen polluted a remarkable start when Yamamoto worked on a no-hitter earlier this month to 8.2 innings against the Baltimore Orioles. After he had allowed a solo-home run, the score was still 3-1 with his exit. Blake Tinn allessed a double, hit a batter, threw a wild pitch and walked the next two batters to make the score, 3-2.
The only thing needed were three throws from Tanner Scott until a Bloop -Single brought in the last two runs.
No matter how easy it can be to go back to earlier losses and to find ways that the bullpen has lately rented, the only thing the Dodgers can do at this present time has continued what has worked in the past. Roberts knows that the starting pitching has been deadly this month and it makes sense that he will continue to push his rotation with the end goal in sight.
