The Los Angeles Dodgers unveiled their 26-man selection for the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies with two remarkable omissions in the Bullpen in right-handed pitcher Edgardo Henriquez and left-handed Werper Justin Wrokleski.

The Dodgers added left -handed pitchers Clayton Kershaw and Anthony Banda, but chose to still transport only 11 pitchers (12 including two -way player Shohei Ohtani).

Roberts revealed why both Henriquez and Wobleski were left of the schedule after they were on the wildcard selection.

Why is Edgardo Henriquez not on Dodgers NLDS selection?

“With Henriquez it was a bit easier in the sense of the way they construct their line – it is heavy left,” said Roberts. “You have glass in the pen for this game, we have a number of other right -handed people. They are many left -handed lanes.”

Henriquez also struggled in the Wildcard, made one appearance in game 1 and recorded zero outs as he allowed a hit, two free running and a deserved run.

Why is Justin Wobleski not on Dodgers NLDS selection?

Roberts said that the decision with Wobleski was more difficult. The left -handed did not appear in the Wildcard, but had three straight scoreless trips to end the regular season.

“I think it was really difficult with Wobo because he performed so well and I can’t really justify it, to be honest with you,” said Roberts. “I think we just deserved Clayton Wilden-Clayton’s the opportunity to be in this schedule (s) I will use him accordingly. And then also with Banda, just a kind of his skills to remove really left-handed hitters, specifically.”

For what it is worth, Wobleski was turned upside down in mid -September against the Phillies, allowing five earned runs to give five hits while they only take one acquisition.

The Dodgers have five left-handed Relievers-Kershaw, Banda, Alex Vesia, Tanner Scott and Jack Dreyer-op the NLDS schedule to see the left-handed heavy line-up of the Phillies. That clearly felt more than enough for Roberts and Co. In this best-of-five series.
