Attorney General Pam Bondi warned doctors who carried out gender-confirming procedures for children and teenagers would be subject to research into the Ministry of Justice.
In a memo that was signed earlier this week, Bondi American lawyers ordered American lawyers to use existing laws on female genital mutilation to investigate providers of transgender health care for minors.
“The Ministry of Justice will not remain unemployed while doctors, motivated by ideology, profit or both, operate and mutilate our children,” Bondi wrote on Tuesday. “Under my watch, the department will act decisively to protect our children and keep them responsible for those who mutilate them under the guise of care.”
The best public prosecutor of the nation said that every person or institution that offers a gender -confirming operation for young Americans would face the full power of the law. Bondi did not explicitly state which type of procedure would be regarded as a genital mutilation of women, according to its interpretation of the law.
“I inform doctors, hospitals and clinics: in the United States it is a crime to perform, try to perform or to work together to perform female genital mutilation (‘FGM’) on a person under the age of 18,” she continued. “That crime has a maximum prison sentence of 10 years per count.”
Bondi commissioned Doj officials to investigate pharmaceutical companies that are said to make false claims about the on-or-off label use of puberty blockers, sex hormones, or other medicines used to facilitate the gender transition of a minor.
She also insisted on civil servants to keep manufacturers of medicines responsible for the alleged misleading of the public about the “long -term side effects of chemical and surgical mutilations” for young people, including treatment with hormone replacement.
The attorney general blamed ‘gender ideology’ for children who underwent the procedures and claims that young people are being taught to process stress and confusion as a case of incorrect identity.
Bondi’s Memo quotes research by Stop The Harm Database, a representation of representation that opposes gender -confirming care for minors.
About 14,000 children were treated for gender dysphoria – the emergency that one feels because of the mismatch between their gender that they were assigned at birth and their gender identity – and 5,700 were operated on between 2019 and 2023, according to the findings of the group.

The order, which was temporarily blocked, threatened that the government would prohibit federal financing and subsidies from medical institutions that perform such practices.
Earlier this month, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services insisted on states not to use medicaid funds for sex changes operations and hormone treatments for minors.
“As a doctor and now CMS manager, my top priority is protecting children and maintaining the law,” said Mehmet Oz, the manager of the agency, in a statement.
