Doctors warn people to be looking for a parasite that is increasingly common in the US.

Cases of Lyme disease rise throughout America, which endangers millions of walking and outdoor lovers because temperatures heat up and people are more outside.

One state in particular experiences a dramatic rise. New Jersey registered more than double the number of cases of Lyme disease in 2024 as compared to 3,110 in 2020 – 7,200.

And so far this year, the State Health Department has reported 1,517 cases of diseases transferred by ticks and 349 drawing -related emergency visits from 1 January to 8 May.

This is an increase of 288 hospital visits in the same time last year.

A person contracts Lyme disease against the bite of an infected black -legged tick, also known as the deerentik, a common species in the northeast and midwest.

Signal signs of Lyme usually start with the characteristic ‘Bullseye’ rash with red rings around the original bite site. If untreated people were able to experience flu -like symptoms, such as headache, muscle pains and pains and fatigue.

Severe untreated cases of Lyme disease can cause face paralysis, face changes and problems with memory and concentration.

Due to the non-specific symptoms of Lyme disease, many cases cannot be diagnosed or incorrectly diagnosed for years.

Performing drawing controls after possible exposure is of vital importance to quickly determine whether you are bitten and to remove the parasite.

Ticking deer is common in northeastern and midwestern states, such as Connecticut, New York, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Recent tests on human and drawing samples suggests that millions more Americans can be at risk, because the tick causes Lyme’s disease spreads to new geographical areas.

Experts do not know exactly why the tick travels, but some argue that it is due to development or climate change, and there may be cases due to increased education and consciousness around ticks and Lyme disease.

To prevent Lyme disease, it is important to wear long sleeves and long pants to prevent signs from attaching to your skin and being able to perform thorough drawing controls after having spent time in the open air.

You can also wear repenting and treat clothing with acaricides, special pesticides that are used to kill ticks and mites.

Ticks can also infect animals, so it is important to check pets on the parasites or signs of a bite and to give them preventives.
