A general practitioner has warned patients to check for signs of a hidden sleeping problem linked to a large number of disorders that can shorten your life.
Dr. ASIF AHMED went to social media to increase the alarm about what he called ‘one of the most chronic non -diagnosed circumstances that are there’ sleep apnea.
This is a condition in which a patient suffers from their breathing while he sleeps and is estimated to destroy the life of millions of British.
“We have to stop missing this diagnosis,” said Dr. Ahmed on Instagram.
‘If you have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia, or you cannot lose weight or a prediabetical, this condition must be excluded.
“Nothing will work, nothing will get better until we treat this.”
Fibromyalgia is a long -term condition that causes pain in the entire body.
Sleep apnea is not only exhaustion, in addition to an increased risk of fatal disorders such as high blood pressure, stroke and type 2 diabetes and depression.

A recent study even found a connection between sleep apnea and lung cancer, although this is still being investigated.
The connection with numerous health problems is part of the reason that Dr. Ahmed said that if sleep apnea remains untreated, this can be correct for 10 to 14 years of your lifespan.
He said that the impact of sleep apnea on the health of a person could not be underestimated and that it can act as a barrier for the successful treatment of other disorders.
“It’s so important, it really messes with your metabolism,” he said.
“If it is not diagnosed and untreated, nothing will make us work therapeutically.”
Despite the dangers, Dr. Ahmed that sleep apnea is often hidden, especially among single people, because it is often partners who first see it.
“They complain about loud snoring or recognizing anionic episodes (periods in which a person stops breathing) while the other person sleeps,” he said.
Fortunately, he added that there are now simple test kits that can be used at home to tell if a person had the condition within a few days.

“I urge everyone whose chronic fatigue has come or feel tired all the time or not being able to lose weight to really be checked for sleep apnea,” he said.
Although sleep apnea has several species, the most common obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is called.
This where the walls of the throat relax and narrow or close during sleep, which limits the oxygen stream in the body.
In response, the brain instinctively pulls a person from deep sleep to get more oxygen.
This leads to significant sleep interruptions and therefore exhaustion in daily life and, moreover – in the longer term – an increased risk of serious health problems.
It is estimated that nearly 4 million people in the UK have moderate or serious OSA, although it is considered under diagnosed and can influence up to 10 million.
Causes of sleep apnea vary, but include obesity that leads to more tissue in the neck, smoking and drinking, as well as large almonds.
The most obvious symptoms of sleep apnea are the aforementioned snoring and respiratory interruptions that are noticed by partners.
Individuals themselves may notice that they wake up a lot at night and feel exhausted during the day, have concentration problems at work or school, have mood swings or have a headache when waking up.
The NHS encourages everyone with signs of sleep apnea to contact their doctor because of the ties with serious health problems and the impact it can have on the life of a patient.
Diagnosis is usually done through special kits that measure the respiratory speed and heart rate that can often be worn at home.
Data from the kit is then analyzed to see if a patient has sleep apnea and, if so, how serious it is.
The treatment may mean that wearing mechanical masks pumping fresh air into the nose and mouth while a patient sleeps or surgery to open the airways more.
Some LowTech methods such as sticking a tennis ball on your back to encourage you to sleep by your side-which can help with sleep apnoea can also be tried.
Anyway, doctors urge patients not to diagnose themselves and seek help from their doctor if they have symptoms.
