Diplomacy wins after a flawless run

CHESTER PA – The Muscle Hill The gelding Diplomacy, a $425,000 yearling who has posted two wins – but three breaks – in his last seven starts – tied that mark in his running record that now goes back eight starts, taking the $13,500 recommended trot at Harrah’s Philadelphia Friday afternoon.

DIPLOMACY REPEAT

Diplomacy, whose dam That’s All Moni was a $500,000-plus winner and a sister to champion Snow White, established herself early in the midpack when favorite Manoah put second choice Greenspan behind him in a :28 quarter. Manoah reached the halfway point in :57.2 and picked up the pace when driver Niko Karna gave Diplomacy the word to go raw up, and they reached three-quarters in 1:26.

Down the stretch, Dipolmacy, at 8-1, proved to be the strongest horse, winning by two lengths from trainer Noel Daley’s favorite and owned by Allister Stables LLC, LA Express & Sjoblom Inc., Frank Canzone and Michael Dolan.

There were two fast class events worth $13,000 for horses of established quality. One was for the distaff pace, and was taken with great difficulty by the Always B Miki mare Miki In Luv, who had to go first against the pace-setting Elegant A, but still beat him by 1¼ lengths in a 1:51.1 mile. The winner of three of her last four starts was ridden by Ridge Warren for trainer Ron Coyne Jr. and owned by Ron Coyne Stables Inc., Blair Corbeil and Richard and Farrell Carney.

The other sub-feature, a trot, saw three-year-old Greenshoe gelding Lefties manhandle Righties older rivals, moving straight into the lead and never being threatened by a mile in 1:53.4. Also winner of three of his last four, including his Pennsylvania Stallion Series Championship, Lefties Righties was piloted by Corey Callahan for trainer Jeff Cullipher and Pollack Racing LLC.

Drivers Simon Allard, Corey Callahan, George Napolitano Jr. and Ridge Warren, along with trainer Jeff Cullipher, had a few successes under their belt.
